Course program

Day 1 Getting in sync with your horse - Confidence, Connection & Basics (L/D)

Morning

   09:00 – Orientation & safety briefing

             Introduction of instructors, Mongolian horses & equipment

             Horse behavior and safety around horses

   10:00 – Groundwork session

             Grooming, saddling, and leading techniques

             Understanding horse communication & posture

   11:30 – Basic riding skills in corral – warm up

            Mounting, balance, reins control, stopping, walking

Afternoon

   13:00 – Lunch

   14:30 – Practice ride around nearby open field (1–2 hours)

            Learning turning, pacing, and stopping

   16:30 – Group reflection & feedback

   18:30 – Dinner

   20:00 – Cultural talk: “The Horse in Mongolian Heritage” with herders

Day 2 Trail techniques & nomadic riding skills - Endurance & Navigation (L/D)

Morning

   08:30 – Saddle preparation (participants do it yourself)

   09:00 – 2–3 hr trail ride (steppe trail)

      Practice posture, trotting, balance on uneven terrain

   12:00 – Lunch

Afternoon

   13:00 – Learn how Mongolians care for and train their horses

     Try traditional airag (fermented mare’s milk)

   15:00 – Return cantering practice

   17:00 – Feedback & discussion with instructor

   18:30 – Dinner

Day 3 – Mini expedition & certificate - Freedom & Mastery (L/D)

Morning

   08:30 – Gear check & safety review – warm up

   09:00 – 3 guided ride through scenic landscapes (valley, riverbank, or hills)

Practicing riding etiquette and endurance

Optional photography stop

Afternoon

   13:00 – Lunch

   14:00 – Fun horse games (naadam-style mini race or lasso demo)

   15:00 – Afternoon free ride

   17:00 – Review of key learnings and Q&A

   18:00 – Certificate ceremony & group photo

   19:00 – Farewell dinner (Khorkhog)

*Note:

  • When joining the course in Batnorov (Option 2), you will be picked up from the Khentii Province bus station, as there is no direct bus. The remaining drive of approximately 100 km to the camp or nomadic yurt will be provided free of charge by local sedan car, or at an additional cost for a 4WD vehicle.
  • If you choose accommodation located farther from the course area, we can also provide daily transportation — approximately USD 25 for a round trip daily.
